From the Hancock shore, Cadillac Mountain sits across Frenchman Bay like scenery somebody hung there, and Route 1 runs past dooryards that all own a piece of that view. Hilt's Landscaping keeps those grounds cut and shaped — weekly mowing, trimmed borders, bed edges cut sharp, brush and leaves hauled off. Fog can swallow the whole bay by ten in the morning and give it back by two, and the mowing goes on either way. What holds it together is repetition done well: the same lawn, the same week, a little better each time. By August the difference between a maintained yard and a forgotten one is plain from the road.
