Gorham gets its snow off the ocean some storms and out of the northwest others, and the two kinds behave nothing alike — one heavy and gray, one dry and blowing. MAG Outdoors plows for both: village driveways where there is nowhere to put the snow, and long rural ones out toward Little Falls and the Presumpscot where there is nothing but room. The work starts while the storm is still going and finishes before the commute, with walkways cleared and the apron at the road opened back up after the town plow seals it. A driveway at six in the morning, cleared and steaming a little under the streetlight, is a small and complete thing. Gorham through the winter, one storm after another.
