February in Farmington comes in low and grey off the western foothills, and the snow that follows tends to arrive sideways. Sargent takes the town's driveways and lots as they come — plowing them open, clearing walkways and entries, and getting back out mid-storm so nothing has a chance to pack down. Route 2 and Route 4 keep the town moving, but a person's own dooryard is what decides whether the morning works, and that is the piece the truck is for. The route runs through Farmington and out toward Wilton, New Sharon, Industry, Temple and Strong. Headlights, a blade, and pavement showing again before the coffee is done.
