Farmingdale is a narrow strip of town between Hallowell and Gardiner, hung on the Kennebec's west bank, and in October the far shore turns over all at once like a page. Gray Brothers Grounds Care Inc keeps the lawns on this side of the water in order — mowing on a weekly rhythm, trimming and edging so the lines stay sharp, and cleanups in spring and fall that take a season's mess right off the property. Once the river starts steaming in the cold, the work shifts to plowing driveways and lots and clearing walkways and entries. The route covers Farmingdale, Hallowell, Gardiner, West Gardiner, Randolph and Augusta. A place that looks looked-after in every month of the year is the ambition.
