United Ag & Turf

About United Ag & Turf

North of town the fields open up and the wind gets an unbroken run at them, which is why a Fairfield winter is measured less in inches than in what the wind does with them afterward. United Ag & Turf takes on that side of the season — plowing drives and lots, clearing entries and walks, and coming back when a storm keeps rearranging what it already dropped. Farm country asks for room to turn, and a plowed yard out here has to work for a pickup, a delivery truck and a tractor alike. Fairfield anchors the route, with Benton, Clinton, Canaan and Skowhegan within reach. Cleared ground before the workday starts is the entire measure of the job.
