Bennett's Fill In The Blank

About Bennett's Fill In The Blank

Out along the open ground in Etna, the fields run far enough that you can watch a rain squall cross them ten minutes before it arrives. Bennett's Fill In The Blank keeps lawns in that country — mowing, trimming, edging, and the spring and fall cleanups that bracket a short Maine growing season. There is a particular satisfaction in the last pass beside a dooryard, when the stripes line up straight and the edge along the walk comes up sharp. Summer runs long and green near Etna Pond, then October turns the ridges toward Dixmont all at once. The work is plain and it shows from the road.
