Homsted Earthworks

About Homsted Earthworks

Mud season out toward Branch Lake is a weather of its own — frost coming out of the gravel, ditches running full, everything soft and hopeful at once. Homsted Earthworks meets it with spring cleanups, raking the winter sand out of the turf and repairing what the plow scuffed, then picking up the mowing cycle and the detail work around foundations and posts. Come November the year reverses into plowing, hand-shoveling walks and steps, and sanding the steep places before daylight. Property out here is half lawn and half woods, and keeping the line between them clean takes regular hands. It is honest work in a town where winter runs long and spring is worth the wait.
