About Yankee Yard Works

A February moon over a Durham pasture turns the whole field the color of skim milk, and every plowed driveway along the road reads like a dark ribbon. Yankee Yard Works does snow removal here — plowing, shoveling entries and steps, sanding, and pushing the banks back so the corners keep their sightlines. On a rural school-bus route the timing matters as much as the work; a drive has to be open before the day starts, not after. That means watching the sky more closely than the clock and heading out when the storm eases rather than when it finally quits. The measure of a night like that is simple: everybody gets where they are going in the morning.
