Durham's western edge follows the Androscoggin, and on a clear morning the river fog lifts off the water and slides up the ridge roads before the sun is fully over Beulah Hill. Stony Brook Landscape LLC works both halves of the year here — mowing, trimming, edging, bed work and seasonal cleanups while things are growing, then plowing driveways, clearing walkways and laying sand or salt once the ground goes hard. Storms come up the river valley carrying plenty of wet weight, which makes early passes matter more than heroic ones. July or January, the standard holds: the drive open, the edges true, nothing left half-finished. Durham, Lisbon, Pownal, Freeport, Brunswick and Topsham make up the map.
