Route 136 follows the Androscoggin's bank through Durham, and in a storm the river is just a darker dark off the shoulder. Enman Landscapes works those winter nights on snow removal — plowing driveways and lots, shoveling steps and walks, sanding the river-road pitches that ice first and thaw last. Snow along the water comes in wet and heavy, the kind that packs and hangs on a blade. Handling it means going early, going back, and pushing the banks well clear so the next storm has somewhere to go.
