Coastal Inc.

About Coastal Inc.

In Cumberland the first weather of the year usually shows up over the water — a gray smudge out past Casco Bay that reaches the Foreside a good hour before it reaches anyone's driveway. Coastal Inc. plows into that hour. Salt wind here packs snow tight against seawalls and shore-road banks, and clearing it takes a plow that already knows which way the drifts lean above Broad Cove. By the time the tide goes pale at daybreak, dooryards are open, walks are cut square, and cars back out onto black pavement without a second thought. That is the whole ambition: a coastal town that wakes up already able to leave.
