A garage in a small Maine town ends up doing whatever the town needs doing. At Littlefield's Garage in Corinna that includes the lawns — mowing, running the trimmer along the edges, cutting in around posts and foundations, and clearing up afterward so a yard is left clean. Summer here smells like warm tar and cut grass in about equal measure. The east branch of the Sebasticook slides past below the village, and the grass on the flats above it grows all the harder for it. The mowers go out, and the yards come back looking looked-after.
