About Soderberg Construction

Route 1 north of Caribou runs straight through open country, and in January the cold settles in with a stillness that makes every sound carry. Soderberg Construction spends that season plowing — driveways, yards and lots opened up, walks cleared, sand laid down where ice takes hold. Storms up here arrive with wind behind them, so the job is as much about pushing banks back and keeping approaches wide as it is about the first pass. Finishing a route at sunrise knowing every place on it can reach the road is reason enough to keep at it. That is the work, repeated from the first storm of the year to the last.
