About Treekeepers LLC

The Megunticook drops through the middle of town on its way to the harbor, and in a hard freeze the falls go quiet under a shell of ice. Storms coming up the bay meet the hills behind Camden and slow down, which is how a four-inch forecast turns into ten by supper. Treekeepers LLC works those nights — plowing dooryards and business lots, clearing walkways by hand where a blade cannot reach, sanding the corners that glaze over first. There is a stillness to a back road toward Hope at two in the morning, plow lights swinging through falling snow, and then a stretch of pavement behind you that somebody will drive at seven without giving it a thought. Midcoast winter is won in those hours.
