By late September the woods around Jacob Buck Pond have gone gold, and the Bucksport lawns underneath them want cutting one more time and then clearing. Northern Industry's works that stretch of the year and the whole green run before it: mowing, trimming, edging, and cleanups in spring and fall. Back from the river the frosts arrive earlier and growth quits sooner, which changes when a lawn should take its last pass. Getting that final cut right — short enough for winter, never scalped — is the kind of detail nobody notices and everybody benefits from. Then the leaves come off, and the yard sits clean under the first snow.
