Bart Flanagan Tree Service

About Bart Flanagan Tree Service

Merrymeeting Bay lies just off Bowdoinham's landing, and in October the rice flats fill with ducks until the whole town hears them going over at dusk. Bart Flanagan Tree Service works the village and the roads along the Cathance — pruning apple and maple, trimming crowns out of the power lines, dropping the big soft-centered silver maples that lean toward the road. Tidal ground makes for uncertain footing, so the work goes where a truck can stand without sinking. When a fall storm comes up the Kennebec and lays a tree across a gravel road, storm damage cleanup starts with the neighbors' driveways and ends with the brush carried off. The bay does as it pleases; a yard can be put in order.
