A plow truck idling under a yard light with the snow coming sideways is about as Maine as a scene gets. Man and Machine runs those hours in Bangor — driveways and lots off Odlin Road and Union Street, blade down, banks pushed back far enough that the next storm still has somewhere to go. Sand and salt where the grade calls for it, walkways cleared right to the step, the ridge at the end of the drive cut down before anyone has to climb it. The satisfaction is simple and physical: buried lot to open lot, one pass at a time, before the city wakes up. Plowing, sanding, salting and storm cleanup, for as many rounds as the sky asks for.
