The Carrabassett comes down out of the hills to meet the Kennebec at North Anson, and river fog sits in the low yards until the sun clears the ridge. Lawncare Brothers is out by then, mowing dooryards and riverbank lawns on both sides of the water, trimming around foundations and fence lines, and clearing beds in spring and again in fall. Ground along the Kennebec grows fast and heavy after rain — miss a week in June and you're cutting hay instead of grass. So the schedule holds, week on week, until the mowers come off in October. A tight edge along a gravel drive in Anson looks as good as anything in the state.
