About Holmes Lawn Care Service (Southern MD & Surrounding areas)

October along the Port Tobacco River turns the marsh grass copper and puts a chill in the mornings that Waldorf will not shake until March. Holmes Lawn Care Service works the whole run of Southern Maryland through it — the last mows of the season, leaves pulled off the turf before they mat and smother it, edges tightened back up for the winter look. Farther out toward La Plata and Hughesville the properties get bigger and the mowing lines get longer, which is its own kind of satisfying. Grass tended in fall is grass that wakes up right in spring, and that is the long game down here. Waldorf, La Plata, Hughesville, Bel Alton and Port Tobacco all fall inside the range.
