About G.C. Smith Enterprises LLC

At four in the morning US 301 through Waldorf is orange sodium light and empty lanes, snow falling straight down with no traffic to stir it. That is G.C. Smith Enterprises LLC's hour — pushing driveways and lots into neat banks, cutting a path to the door, salting the places that will glaze over once the temperature slides through the night. Storms here arrive in every temperament, wet heavy inches one week and a hard sleet crust the next, and each one gets a different pass. The measure of the night is simple: whether the person leaving at seven can just get in the car and go. Waldorf, White Plains, St. Charles and Brandywine are covered when the forecast turns.
