Small's Enterprise

About Small's Enterprise

February around the Show Place Arena grounds is wide and open — parking fields, low buildings, wind crossing with nothing to slow it, so the snow drifts wherever it likes. Small's Enterprise takes on winter in Upper Marlboro: plowing drives and lots, clearing walkways right up to the doors, salting the places where meltwater runs and then sets hard overnight. Storms that come up off the bay arrive heavy and wet, the sort that has to be moved while it is still falling instead of after. Done properly, morning shows nothing but pavement and a neat bank pushed off to one side.
