About Alonzo Landscapes

First light finds Schoolhouse Pond still as a held breath, and by the time the herons lift off, Alonzo Landscapes already has a mower warming somewhere on the far side of Upper Marlboro. Lawns in this old county seat grow the way the humid Patuxent air tells them to — fast in May, stubborn in August — and the work is learning that rhythm rather than fighting it. Mowing, edging, trimming and seasonal cleanups: the list is short, the standard is not. What we are after is the line where turf meets walkway, cut so clean it looks drawn. A yard that reads well from the sidewalk changes the whole feel of a street, and that is the thing worth chasing.
