March at Lake Roland is bare branches and loud water — the dam running full, the light coming through the woods without a leaf in its way. That's when Ross Landscaping starts, clearing off what winter dropped on Towson's yards: sticks, matted leaves, the litter that blew in and stayed. The first cut comes soon after, careful and a little high, because early grass bruises easy and the ground is still soft underfoot. From there it's a season of mowing and edging, a straight line drawn again each visit where lawn meets sidewalk and bed. Trimmer work follows the shape of a place — around the stone wall, the downspout, the hillside no mower deck can hold. By the time the leaves come back down in fall, the same crew is out moving them, and the yard goes into winter looking squared away.
