About Gray & Son, Inc

When a storm tracks up the Chesapeake and swings inland, the I-83 corridor above Baltimore is often where the rain line finally breaks over into snow. Gray & Son, Inc. handles snow removal in and around Timonium, which means keeping the hours nobody else keeps — three in the morning, headlights full of falling flakes, a wide lot to be taken corner to corner. Pavement has an order to it: the perimeter first, then the lanes, then the tight pockets where drift likes to pile against a curb. By the time the sky over the county goes properly gray with daylight, the surfaces are back down to blacktop and the morning can start on schedule. That is the entire ambition of the work, and it is a good one.
