About Baker Tree Services

Thurmont lies at the foot of Catoctin Mountain, where Hunting Creek comes down cold out of the hollow and the orchards climb the first slopes. Baker Tree Services works both halves of that geography — the mountain hardwoods that throw a limb onto a house lot, and the yard maples that need a trim before they crowd the eaves. October turns the whole ridge over, and then the same ridge sends an ice storm down in January that leaves the birches bowed to the ground and driveways under a tangle. Storm damage cleanup on those mornings is saw noise, woodsmoke, and a road opened one length at a time. The rest of the year runs quieter: pruning young trees toward good structure, taking out the ones gone punky at the base, leaving a place that reads clean from the porch.
