Dart lawn and Garden

About Dart lawn and Garden

Still Pond keeps a wide sky over it — the kind that runs unbroken from the farm fields down to where the creek slips out toward the Chesapeake. Dart lawn and Garden works under that light, mowing and edging the yards along the village grid and the long drives out on the county roads. There is a particular satisfaction to an August afternoon here: the mower's line laid straight, the border shaved clean where grass meets gravel, the smell of cut turf hanging in air that came in off the water. Come autumn, leaves off the shade trees get gathered and the garden beds get put right before the wind turns hard across open ground. It is plain work, done carefully, for neighbors who can see the whole of it from the road.
