About The Groundskeeper Inc.

Cold arrives in the Potomac valley from the top down, spilling off South Mountain and pooling in the fields around Sharpsburg long before sunrise. The Groundskeeper Inc. answers it with plows and shovels — driveways opened, walkways cleared, ice treated on the shaded stretches that never catch a full day of sun. The rest of the year that same ground gets mowed, trimmed and edged, from the lanes down near the C&O Canal towpath to the yards climbing back toward the ridge. This is a town that keeps its rhythm out in the open, farmland on three sides and a river at its back, and the work keeps step with it. There is a plain satisfaction in either half: a mower shut off at exactly the right moment, or the last pass of a blade that opens a lane to the road.
