Bayside Lawn and Garden

About Bayside Lawn and Garden

Morning on Parrish Creek comes in low and silver, and by the time the workboats have cleared the pilings, Bayside Lawn and Garden is already mowing. On a peninsula this narrow every yard sits a few minutes from salt water, and the grass grows the way bay-country grass does — quick in May, stubborn in August, always leaning toward the light. The mowing lines run straight, the edges get cut clean along the drive, and the clippings come off the walk before the truck pulls away. It is lawn care measured in small, satisfying finishes: a lawn that ends exactly where it should. Come evening the yard holds the last of the light and looks like someone was here.
