About Cole Ramsey's Snow Removal

Three in the morning, and the driveways dropping toward Round Bay are the steepest problem in town. Cole Ramsey's Snow Removal is out on them while the Severn lies black and unmoving below — plowing a path down and back, shoveling the walk to the door, laying ice control on the pitch so the first trip out isn't a gamble. Headlights, exhaust, the scrape of the blade, then quiet again, and a clear lane where there wasn't one. The houses stay dark; the work is finished before anyone knows it started. That is the whole point of it.
