About Als landscaping

October is the honest month for a Maryland lawn. When the humidity finally lets go of Anne Arundel County and the tulip poplars start dropping gold along Severn Run, Als landscaping is pulling cores out of tired fescue and working seed down into the county's stubborn red clay. Mowing here is a season-long conversation — the deck raised through the sticky weeks, brought back down when the nights cool — but the fall work is where next June's lawn actually gets made. Edges get cut, beds get cleared, clippings come off the walk before the truck pulls away. The thick green that comes up from Quarterfield to the Provinces in April is where that October afternoon finally shows itself.
