Grover's Lawnscape

About Grover's Lawnscape

Out on the back roads of Saint Leonard, old tobacco barns still stand in the fields, their slatted sides weathered silver and open to the July air. This is where Grover's Lawnscape works: lawn care in a Southern Maryland summer, when the cicadas tune up by midafternoon and the grass, fed by heat and humidity, grows like it has an appointment to keep. A yard in this country rewards patience, the mower's lines laid straight and the trim tight around fence posts and mailbox, brought back to order visit after visit. There is pride in that kind of rhythm, in turning a shaggy acre into something that looks composed from the road. When the late light slants gold across the fields, a Grover's Lawnscape yard belongs in the picture.
