Stars of the Lawn

About Stars of the Lawn

There is a half hour after a June mowing in Rockville when the light drops, fireflies lift out of the College Gardens hedges, and the whole yard smells like cut grass. Stars of the Lawn works toward that half hour — mowing, string trimming, edging and cleanup on lawns all over town. This ground rolls more than people expect, and keeping a slope looking level takes attention rather than horsepower. The name is a promise about the ordinary: that a plain suburban lawn, cut true and edged clean, is worth stopping to look at. Neighbors notice, and that is exactly the point.
