About Choptank Turf & Pest Management

Preston is Caroline County farm country at its most open, soybean and corn fields running flat to the tree line and the Choptank River winding wide and slow not far off. Choptank Turf & Pest Management looks after turf and lawns in this small town, along with the pest management its name describes. Late summer is the real test out here: heat, humidity and sandy coastal-plain soil all pull at a lawn, and keeping turf thick and green takes attention rather than luck. Near the old mill on Hunting Creek, where water once turned the millstones, the countryside has a patience to it, and a well-tended lawn fits right in. Dense, even grass running clear to the edge of the drive is a welcome sight on a hot August evening.
