POPS HANDYMAN & LAWN SERVICES

About POPS HANDYMAN & LAWN SERVICES

Summer afternoons in Port Deposit can feel like an oven, the granite behind the houses soaking up the sun and handing the heat back long after dark. POPS HANDYMAN & LAWN SERVICES is a handyman and lawn service in town, keeping grass cut and trimmed on the sort of lots only a river town could produce: narrow, sloped and bounded by old rock. There is a neighborly feel to the work, a mowed front strip, a trimmed path up to the porch, clippings swept off the sidewalk. When a July thunderstorm breaks over the river and the grass jumps overnight, it helps to know the mower is on its way. Some towns are made of lawns; this one is made of porches, and a tidy yard in front of one is a pleasure to sit and look at.
