About Herring Lawn and Land LLC

At Piney Point the Potomac is so wide it reads as open water, and the lighthouse stands white against it while ospreys work the mouth of Herring Creek. Herring Lawn and Land LLC keeps the yards along that shoreline in order — mowing, trimming, edging and cleanup on ground that runs from lawn to marsh grass in the space of a few steps. Salt air and river wind are hard on turf, and a St. Mary's County summer asks for a steady rhythm rather than a heroic one. There is something worth doing in a cut lawn that ends at the water, the line held straight right up to where the mower can no longer go. Out here the view is the point, and this work is what keeps it clear.
