February on the lanes above Rock Creek is a cycle of melt and refreeze — puddles by afternoon, glass by dark, gravel shoulders turning treacherous overnight. Garver's Construction takes on that stretch of Pasadena with plowing, walk clearing and salt, sized to driveways that bend and narrow the way older waterfront roads do. Snow out toward Orchard Beach can come sloppy and half rain, and it wants moving before it sets rather than after. A drive scraped down while it is still soft stays open, and that is the whole of the trick.
