About Millard Lawn and Landscaping

On summer evenings the lawn outside the Olney Theatre Center fills with folding chairs and people waiting on a first line, and the grass is asked to be a floor. Millard Lawn and Landscaping thinks about lawns that way all over town — surfaces people actually stand on, sit down on, cross barefoot. Mowing to the rhythm the season sets, trimming tight around trunks and posts, edging until the border reads as a single stroke, and leaf cleanup once the maples along the road give up. The soil here is heavy Piedmont clay and the summers are long, so the work is steady rather than dramatic. It all shows up at golden hour, when a level, well-kept yard catches the light like part of the house.
