Oakland's old B&O station, with its steep Queen Anne roofline from the 1880s, still stands beside the tracks where freight trains rumble through this Garrett County seat. Ashby Property Services clears snow and cuts grass here, more than two thousand feet up on the Allegheny Plateau, where winter comes early and lingers late.
