About From the Ground up Landscape and Design LLC

On the Somerset County side of the Wicomico River, the tide shapes the land around Mount Vernon, filling the marsh creeks twice a day and drawing back to leave the mud shining. From the Ground up Landscape and Design LLC tends lawns in this low, open country, where sandy soil drains fast and summer heat leans hard on every blade. The work starts at grass level, just as the name says, with careful mowing, close trimming around porches and sheds, and edges laid neat along the drives. Out here a yard is often the one stretch of order between the fields and the tidal marsh, and done right it looks calm and deliberate beneath the enormous sky. Evening finds the new-cut grass cooling while herons work the shallows along the river.
