Flourish

About Flourish

Ilchester sits in the crook of the Patapsco, where the river runs cold under hemlock and old mill stone and the road drops away toward the water. In April the valley wakes damp and green, and every lawn on the ridge above the gorge starts pushing at once. Flourish meets that push with mowing on a dependable rhythm, edges cut sharp along walk and drive, and trimming close in where a yard gives way to the woods. Spring cleanup pulls the winter litter out of the beds; the autumn round gathers what comes down off the slope. The name says the whole ambition — a yard in Ilchester that looks glad to be growing.
