About J. Ramirez Landscaping

When cold air stacks up against South Mountain, Hagerstown gets the long gray kind of storm — sleet along the ridge line, snow all the way down onto the valley floor. J. Ramirez Landscaping runs those nights: plowing driveways and lots, clearing walks and steps by hand, spreading salt where ice sets up on the shady side of a house. There is a particular quiet to a Washington County storm at three in the morning, just the scrape of the blade and the orange light turning. By breakfast the pavement is black and wet and somebody can simply back out and go. That is the entire point of the trade.
