About Grassworks, Inc.

Up on the ridge that Mountain Road follows there is nothing between Fallston's open fields and the wind, so snow does not stay where it falls — it travels, and it stacks against the first thing that stops it. Grassworks, Inc. plows for that country: drives reopened after the drift rebuilds itself, walkways shoveled down to the surface, ice melt laid where shade holds a patch all day. A storm here is measured less by depth than by how many times the wind rewrites it. The trucks come back through, and come back again, because a lane cut at nine at night can be gone by two. When the sun finally clears the ridgeline, the drives along 152 lie open end to end.
