Out past Essex toward Bowleys Quarters the land runs thin between creeks, and a winter wind crossing open water arrives with nothing to slow it. Salazar Landscape plows through that, opening driveways and lots and cutting walkways down to concrete where drift keeps rebuilding across them. Grit is spread where slope will carry meltwater onto a step and where the shade holds cold all day. On nights like those the work starts long before the town stirs, street by street, until the routes tie together. First light on the water, and the way in and out is simply there.
