About eos Outdoor Services

First light in Ellicott City reaches the ruined stone walls on the hill above town before it ever reaches the streets below, and on a January morning that thin gray line on the horizon is the deadline. eos Outdoor Services works the hours ahead of it — plowing driveways and parking areas, clearing walkways and steps, spreading salt where a north-facing slope will keep its ice until dark. Snow arrives here as whatever it feels like being: dry powder one storm, eight inches of wet mid-Atlantic cement the next, a glaze of freezing rain laid over the top. The equipment and the timing shift to match; the standard behind them does not. A driveway open before the first car needs it is the whole measure of the night.
