About Wicho & Sons LLC

A nor'easter reaches Elkton from the south first, coming up over the canal at Chesapeake City, and by midnight Little Elk Creek is running black between white banks and nothing is moving on the side streets. That's the hour Wicho & Sons LLC goes to work — plowing, scraping, clearing drives and walks so the morning arrives passable instead of buried. The measure of the night is simple and it holds up in daylight: pavement showing, a clean cut at the apron, room to back out without guessing where the edge is. Wet Chesapeake snow is heavy stuff, and moving it takes patience as much as horsepower. When the sun finally comes up over Cecil County and everyone gets where they're going, the work has already done its talking.
