The first real snow of December tends to catch Elkridge mid-errand, somewhere between the Route 1 shops and home. Green Future Construction is staged for it, running the cul-de-sacs and shared drives off Old Washington Road where a plow has to work in tight circles. A dead-end court takes patience — the snow has nowhere to go but the corners, and it must be put there in a way that leaves every mailbox and parked car reachable. Walkways get shoveled to the door, not merely to the curb. By the time the neighborhood pulls out for work, the only snow left is the kind that looks good from a window.
