About Action Sweeping Services
At four in the morning the Washington Boulevard corridor is nothing but sodium light and falling snow, and that is when Action Sweeping Services goes to work. The long warehouse aprons north of Elkridge hold cold the way wide concrete does, so plow lines get cut early and the salt goes down well before the first shift arrives. Around Troy Hill the wind crosses open pavement with nothing to slow it, and drifts rebuild themselves by the hour — the answer is coming back, and coming back again. There is a real satisfaction in a lot that lies black and dry under the lamps while it is still snowing. By the time Elkridge wakes and the trucks roll toward I-95, the way in is already open.
