About Golden River Outdoor Enterprises

The South Branch of the Patapsco runs dark and quick below Eldersburg while everything above it goes white. Golden River Outdoor Enterprises handles snow removal here — plowing, clearing walks, spreading salt at the steps and on the pitch of a driveway where the sun never quite reaches. Storms in this corner of Carroll County like to arrive as rain, hesitate, then change over near midnight, which is exactly the kind of night that decides whether a morning works. Working through it has its own quiet: the scrape of the blade, the drive banked clean on both sides, a porch light still burning. By the time the valley turns pink, the way out is open.
