REC Lawns

About REC Lawns

Around Lake Artemesia the year tells you exactly where it stands: herons stalking the shallows in June, the water gone pewter and still by January. REC Lawns keeps time the same way, in two registers. Through the warm months the crew is out among College Park's oak-shaded yards, mowing while the grass is still heavy with morning dew, edging the walks, keeping lawns thick against the long humid Maryland summer. Then the forecast turns, and the same hands trade mowers for shovels and plows, clearing driveways and paths while the flakes are still coming down. It is one town, one set of streets near the Paint Branch, tended in green and tended in white. Either way, the aim is the same — a yard, or a driveway, that looks cared for the moment you see it.
