About Graves Tree Service

On a July Saturday the traffic bound for the beach hums past all day, and Berlin keeps its own pace underneath the sycamores and pin oaks. Graves Tree Service works those shaded blocks and the lanes running down toward Ayres Creek — pruning crowns that have crept over rooflines, trimming limbs off the driveway line, removing what a hard hurricane season loosened at the roots. Cleanup after a storm is an autumn habit on the lower Shore: the wind arrives off the water with nothing in the way to slow it down. The work finishes clean, the wood stacked where it is wanted and the lawn raked so the grass comes back without a scar. A tidy yard under a big sycamore is one of the simple pleasures of this county.
